"Zhirayr Liparityan, a former adviser to the first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan unveiled that If Yerevan does not accept the demands of Azerbaijan regarding the peace agreement, new war may begin," APA reports.

He commented on Baku's demand from Yerevan to recognize Karabakh as a part of Azerbaijan on the Public Television Company of Armenia.

"Do we have the opportunity to resist this? Why do we demand such a thing that we could not get?", said Zhirayr Liparityan.

He noted that Baku's demands have changed throughout time and regarding the acts of the Armenian side.

According to the former chief adviser, if the leadership of Armenia is guided by the logic that it will lose a lot during the new agreement, it will lose more than the document it can sign as a result of the new war. "If we sign the document, there is at least a 20 percent chance that nothing else will happen." We have no right to lose this chance and move towards a 100% new war," Libaridian said.

He added that if Yerevan and Baku sign a peace treaty, then possible actions against this document will be not only profitable but also dangerous for Azerbaijan. He pointed out that if Baku's demands are not met, Azerbaijan will have to go to war. Commenting on the criticism against him for encouraging the transfer of Karabakh to Azerbaijan, Liparityan said: "Karabakh is not ours to hand over. We have already lost Karabakh. As a result of the war, we lost the opportunity to say something about the Karabakh issue."

Note that during the presidency of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Zhirayr Libaridian served as political analysis adviser to the Armenian president, first Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, chief adviser to the Armenian President, Secretary of the Security Council, and ambassador. Zhirayr Libaridian participated in the Karabakh negotiations.
