The French Senate adopted a disgraceful resolution providing for sanctions against Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The Senate discussed and adopted the draft law on the imposition of sanctions against Azerbaijan based on Article 34-1 of the French Constitution.
Out of 296 people who participated in the meeting, 295 voted in favor of the project and 1 voted against it.
The authors of the project demand that "Azerbaijan and its partners respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia, as well as the return of all Armenian prisoners of war."
"The government of Azerbaijan is requested to take measures to protect the Armenian population, Armenian religious and cultural heritage in accordance with the Convention Prohibiting All Kinds of Discrimination dated January 4, 1969. The French government is proposing to open a humanitarian office in Karabakh. Among the proposals is the recognition of independence from the so-called "NKR". The French government is required to start a diplomatic process with Azerbaijan in order to establish peace in the Caucasus. The deployment of peacekeeping forces of international status on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is also among the proposals."
It should be noted that France has been supporting Armenia's policy of aggression for a long time and encouraging it in disruptive activities.
