The result of a one-day anti-terrorist measures carried out in Garabagh is a huge success of the Azerbaijani people and leadership, a Georgian political expert, doctor of political and historical sciences, professor of the Georgian Technical University Vaja Shubitidze said in his interview with APAs Georgia bureau.
He noted that Azerbaijan's victory in the Garabagh conflict gives hope that Georgia will also gain its territorial integrity.
"This is a huge success of the people of Azerbaijan and its leadership. Mr. Ilham Aliyev led his people to victory. This required great patience. A lot of blood was shed, however, the people of Azerbaijan regained their territorial integrity. This makes us Georgians very happy, because it gives us hope that we will restore our territorial integrity. In this regard, we sincerely congratulate the brotherly people of Azerbaijan. Finally, peace and freedom are coming to the Caucasus. This peace will contribute to the development of Georgians, Azerbaijanis and Armenians. I am sure that soon the people of Armenia will understand that this defeat serves the prosperity of Armenia itself. Because they became hostages of Garabagh. All the country's income and funds were spent on the war, they lost many people. They should have understood that in the 21st century, no one can take someone else's territory by force, especially if this someone else is stronger than you."
Board member of the Georgia’s New Christian-Democrats Party Levan Chkheidze noted that the anti-terrorist measures were the final stage of the conflict and their results have opened a door to new opportunities for the development of the region.
“I congratulate the Azerbaijani nation, Azerbaijani state, and government on the successful conclusion of the anti-terror operation. I am of the opinion that this was the final stage of 35-years conflict which has ended thousands of innocent lives and with this, the conflict will completely end. The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev rightly emphasized that it is necessary to turn the region into a region of cooperation and prosperity, not conflicts and confrontations. The conclusion of this conflict brings about opportunities for the region to implement the Zangazur project and the other remaining projects as well. At the same time, this will bring quite positive differences for Armenia as well. The long-awaited peace and prosperity will now be possible in the region," Chkheidze stressed.
