Illegal Armenian military units must be withdrawn from Azerbaijani territory: MFA

"Armenians live in areas controlled by peacekeepers. We believe that they are citizens of Azerbaijan," Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told journalists, APA reports.

According to him, the integration of these Armenians into Azerbaijan in the future is the main issue ahead.

"The conflict is over, Azerbaijan's territorial integrity has been restored. There are cases of ceasefire violations. But, of course, all this does not serve to strengthen peace, and I think they must be eliminated. I am sure that the peacekeepers also fully understand their duties and responsibilities. The illegal Armenian military units there must be unequivocally withdrawn, and the process will continue in this direction. All obstacles to peace must also be removed. Violation of the ceasefire must be stopped," Khalaf Khalafov said.
