Israeli FM: Iran is a factor that creates instability in the region and globally

Israel supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen told reporters, APA reports.

"Today is an important day in our relations. I would say it is a historic day. We have important strategic relations with Azerbaijan. I will personally visit Baku in April and chair the meeting of the intergovernmental commission. I think there is a wide potential to further strengthen our relations," the minister said.

On behalf of the government and people of Israel, Eli Cohen thanked the Jewish community living in Azerbaijan for centuries.

"Today, we witnessed members of the Jewish community born in Azerbaijan proudly wearing the flags of two countries on their chests. As two countries, we share common points, but at the same time we face the threat of Iran. Iran is a factor that creates instability in the region and globally. This country finances terrorism. Israel also remains committed to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons," said Eli Cohen.

According to the Minister, work should be done on various aspects of all these issues.

"I will go to Baku in the middle of April and a large economic delegation will accompany me. They are representative offices in the field of cyber security, agriculture, innovation," the foreign minister said.
