Issue of armed attack on Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran raised at OSCE Permanent Council meeting

The issue of the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was raised at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Permanent Council meeting, said Rovshan Sadigbayli, the permanent representative of Azerbaijan to the OSCE, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia, APA reports.

"At today’s OSCE PC meeting, the issue of the armed attack against our Embassy in Iran was raised. Thanks to 52 Delegations to OSCE who joined Azerbaijan in condemning this attack, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and calling for a swift investigation," said Rovshan Sadigbayli.

Note that an armed attack took place at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran on January 27, 2023, at about 8:30 by Baku time. As a result of this vile attack, Orkhan Askerov, the head of the security service of the diplomatic mission, was killed while performing his official duties, and two employees of the Embassy were injured.
