Jeyhun Bayramov, the foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Tanja Fajon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia during the high-level week of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Azerbaijani MFA told APA.
The minister said that bilateral political and economic cooperation plays an important role, and noted the need to explore opportunities for developing relations in economic activity, investment, tourism and other areas. During the meeting, the minister informed about the history of Armenia's aggression against our country, Armenia's provocations in the post-conflict period, large-scale mine threats in the region.
Noting that there are friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia expressed interest in expanding relations in the field of economy and energy. She expressed her concern about the tension in our region and noted that it is necessary to solve the problems at the political-diplomatic level.
During the meeting, the importance of continuing the bilateral political dialogue between our countries was emphasized, and opinions were exchanged on a number of regional issues.
