Jeyhun Bayramov meets with Japan FM

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Japanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Takei Shunsuke on the sidelines of the 29th Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Lodz, Poland, APA reports citing the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the sides stressed that this year marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and cooperation relations were established between Japan and Azerbaijan based on mutual respect and trust, despite being geographically far from each other.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his colleague about the current situation in the region, the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the practical steps taken by our country to eliminate the consequences of the occupation of Azerbaijan's territories for nearly 30 years. Besides, the minister spoke about the threat of mines in our territories and the serious humanitarian consequences caused by it.

The parties exchanged views on possible cooperation within the framework of Japan's membership in the UN Security Council in 2023, as well as global and regional topical issues and threats.
