President of the Republic of Latvia Egils Levits, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, has today visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku, APA reports.
A guard of honor was lined up for the Latvian President here.
President Egils Levits paid tribute to Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity.
The Latvian President laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
A military orchestra of the Ministry of Defense played the national anthems of Latvia and Azerbaijan.
President Egils Levits enjoyed a panoramic view of Baku as he was informed on the history of the Alley of Martyrs and redevelopment works in the capital of Azerbaijan.
