“As we do not have resolute responses for what they committed in Georgia in 2008, in Ukraine in 2014, Russia launched again an aggressive war in February of 2022,” said Latvian President Egils Levits at the 10th Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

According to him, countries face external and internal threats.

“Today the biggest external threat is Russian aggression. Russia’s aggression started before 2014. We should remember the attack on Georgia,” stressed the Latvian President.

He emphasized that due to Russia's war against Ukraine, the leadership of this country should be brought to the international tribunal: “The international tribunal is important for three reasons: “First, it means justice for Ukraine, second, it is proving that the international law works, and the third, all potential aggressors should be shown that aggression, occupation do not remain unpunished. As we did not give resolute responses in 2008 and 2014, Russia committed aggressive acts again.”
