"Igor Khovayev, ambassador on special tasks of the Russian Foreign Ministry Igor Khovayev, will make regular visits to Baku and Yerevan in September to continue work on the text of the peace agreement," said Denis Gonchar, Director of the Fourth Department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with RIA Novosti, APA reports.

"The topic of developing a peace treaty occupies an important place in our efforts to help normalize Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Both Baku and Yerevan have confirmed to us that there is a need for relevant assistance from Russia. Of course, for us, this is not self-advertisement, a great responsibility," Gonchar emphasized.

He reminded that to make these efforts systematic and substantive, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov entrusted Khovayev, who is the ambassador on special tasks, with special representative functions to help normalize relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia: Khovayev regularly visits Baku and Yerevan to hold consultations on the topic of the peace agreement, to seek common ground in the positions of the partners to facilitate the agreement of the draft agreement. His next visits to the region will take place this month."
