"The Nizami Ganjavi International Foundation is becoming a convincing force, it is recognized as an international platform. This international platform already plays the role of an international hub for the exchange of ideas. This platform allows us to discuss issues related to global concerns and seek answers," said Vaira Vike-Freiberga, former President of Latvia, and co-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, said this in his speech at the 10th Baku Global Forum, APA reports.

He said that if the global community has a common understanding of threats and dangers and shows solidarity, then it will be easier to fight the consequences of these threats and dangers.

In his speech, Vayra Vike-Freiberga spoke about Russia's aggressive and baseless war against Ukraine.

"It is unacceptable if a big country attacks its neighbor based on its historical fantasies and illusions. We see this in its aggression against Ukraine."

The former President of Latvia emphasized that he appreciates the provision of religious freedom in Azerbaijan. "Azerbaijan firmly ensures freedom of religion, and women's rights are respected."

The former President of Latvia also congratulated Azerbaijan on the chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.
