Embassy of Pakistan Baku Observation of Youm - e - Istehsal at Embassy of Pakistan , Baku The somber occasion of Youm - e - Istehsal was observed at the Embassy of Pakistan , Baku on 5 August 2022, APA reports.
Representatives of local media , think tanks and students from Azerbaijani universities attended the event . Later , a photo exhibition was also organized at the Embassy premises depicting the miserable situation of Kashmiri people in I1OJ & K
Addressing the event , Ambassador Bilal Hayee noted that 5 August is considered as a dark day in the history of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir . 3 years ago , on 5 August 2019 , people of Jammu and Kashmir were robbed of their distinct identity recognized and protected under the Constitution of India . That is why it is called Youm - Istehsal or Day of Exploitation . With the abrogation of articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution , Government of the BJP tried to eradicate the special status of the Kashmiri people in sheer violation of the UN Security Council Resolutions and Geneva Conventions . Ambassador Hayee informed " today's event marks the completion of an unprecedented three years long military siege and draconian curbs on the fundamental freedoms of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir ' . Since 5 August 2019 , the Indian government has introduced further measures to effect demographic changes in I1OJK in a bid to further marginalize the Kashmiri people in their own homeland and bring in non - Kashmiri settlers to diminish and destroy the distinct Kashmiri identity . It was pointed out that Kashmiri leadership remained incarcerated under false charges and the liberty of ordinary people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir was severely restricted . The renowned Kashmiri leader Mr. Yasin Malik was sentenced in a fallacious case and is confined in a notorious jail under deteriorating health condition . Since August 2019 , 600 people have been martyred and extra - judicial killings claimed 116 lives this year alone . Enforced disappearances , arbitrary deten tions , and frequent cordon - and - search operations continued to harass and intimidate the ordinary Kashmir people . These Indian actions are a blatant violation of international law , relevant UNSC resolutions , and the 4th Geneva Convention . A documentary was also shown on the occasion highlighting the continued and systematic violations of human rights of the people of IIOJ & K at the hands of the Indian Occupying forces . Participants of the event acknowledged that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is an internationally issue and no unilateral action by the Indian Government can either alter the disputed status of the territory or prejudice the legitimate right to self - determination of the Kashmiri people.
