“It is time for France to grant independence to New Caledonia,” President of the Parliament of New Caledonia Roch Wamytan told journalists, APA reports.
He noted that that France has made New Caledonia its colony for more than 160 years, adding that the page of colonization should be closed and that New Caledonia should gain its independence.
Roch Wamytan thanked President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his statement on colonialism at the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement and emphasized that the president’s words are an important support for the Kanak people to gain independence.
