"The European Union successfully cooperates with the government of Azerbaijan both bilaterally and within the framework of the Council of Europe," said the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko at the event dedicated to the 20th cooperation of Azerbaijan and the European Council and organized by the Council of Europe Office in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ADA University, APA reports.
He said that EU and EC share the same values and these are the rule of law, democracy and human rights.
The ambassador said that the two organizations benefit from each other's experience: "As you know, in July of this year, the EU and Azerbaijan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic partnership in the field of energy. Currently, the EU and Azerbaijan are discussing a new partnership agreement. This new document will allow us to further expand our cooperation and cover new spheres".
