Holding of 5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis in Shusha is a very powerful step in the field of turning Shusha into a venue for holding international events, Director of the Russian Institute for Political Studies, well-known political scientist Sergei Markov told APA’s Moscow correspondent.
“Russia has always supported the main idea of “ Karabakh is Azerbaijan and will also continue from now on”
He recalled that after the liberation of Shusha from the occupation, they had held an international conference there with the attendance of Russian experts and members of parliament.

Editor-in-chief of Russian "Nasionalnaya Oborona" magazine, a well-known military expert Igor Korotchenko told APA that holding the Victory Congress of World Azerbaijanis in Shusha was of great importance.
"I have been to Shusha twice. We witnessed how this magnificent ancient city of Azerbaijan was revived. Shusha is not only the cultural capital of the Turkic world but also an architectural masterpiece. Armenian invaders savagely destroyed this city. Today Shusha is reviving. Rare historical monuments and museums are restored with the main participants of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The holding of the V Congress of World Azerbaijanis in Shusha is an important event without exception," Markov said.

Deputy Director of the Russian Institute of Political Studies, political expert Daria Grevtsova told APA that Azerbaijan’s return to its occupied territories was the greatest achievement in over 30 years: “We see how rapidly Karabakh develops now. Organization of the 5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis in Shusha shows that Karabakh region is reviving and integrating into the life of whole Azerbaijan.”
“Shusha is a center for all world Azerbaijanis”
Head of Eurasian Ideas Foundation, political expert Grigory Trofimchuk told APA that Shusha was not only a capital of Azerbaijan’s culture but in general, a symbol and heart of Azerbaijani people, nation: “That is why Shusha is a center for all world Azerbaijanis. Namely, for it, all these events occurred around Shusha in November of 2020. If Shusha had not been liberated from occupation then, if Azerbaijan had not taken it back, then the situation would have looked a little different. However, now Azerbaijan conducts its own policy calmly."
