"According to the received information, an armed person entered the building of the diplomatic mission in the morning today and opened fire. As a result, an employee of the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan was killed, while to more embassy workers were injured. The attacker was detained by the Tehran police, and an investigation is underway. We hope that all the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
What happened today once again confirms the importance of ensuring the safe operation of diplomatic missions by the authorities of the state where diplomatic missions are located, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations dated April 18, 1961," the statement said.
