“Russia takes proposals put forward by Baku as a basis for developing peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” said the official representative of Russian MFA Maria Zakharova at the briefing held today, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

According to her, Russia assists Baku and Yerevan in drafting a peace agreement and directs proposals on basic principles for the normalization of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“I want to remind that these proposals were developed in Baku and received a constructive reaction from Yerevan. We consider that these proposals are a good basis for agreeing on the positions of the parties. We see our role as assisting in helping to bring the positions of the parties closer, not by doing the opposite. It also applies to our public work,” stressed Zakharova.
