Armenia's appeal to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) for military support is legally illegal, said Igor Korotchenko, the editor-in-chief of the Russian magazine "Nasionalnaya Oborona," a well-known military expert, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, it is a local border incident: "Moreover, the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia is not delimited. Therefore, there is a line of contact between the "de facto" parties," said Korotchenko.

The Russian expert noted that the source of the armed incident is the Armenian side and its armed provocation: “Azerbaijan's actions are retaliatory and forced, and included in the category of “self-defense.”

"Azerbaijan is engaged in large-scale work on peaceful restoration and development of its liberated territories, while Armenia is in the same situation as it was two years ago - revanchism, threats, and provocations."

According to Korotchenko, Moscow and CSTO use political-diplomatic methods to resolve the situation.
