“Azerbaijan put an end to the occupation of its territories by Armenia lasting 30 years. As a result, nearly a million Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs become homeless and unemployed,” the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova said at the Global Parliamentary Conference organized by the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, APA’s Istanbul correspondent reports.
According to her, despite the economic influences of the occupation, the Azerbaijani government met their all needs.
“Liberation of the occupied territories has created new reality and opportunities for peace and development in the region. The carried reconstruction works will assist these territories to reintegrate to the economy of the country, and make Karabakh and East Zangazur attractive for tourism, investment, and business fields,” she noted.
