The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, APA reports citing the press service of the ministry.
"The Ministry of foreign affairs of Saudi Arabia strongly condemns the armed attack on the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran, Iran, which resulted in the death of one person and the injury of several people. The Ministry confirms the solidarity of the Kingdom with the Republic of Azerbaijan and its friendly people in this difficult moment, calls for respect for the inviolability of diplomatic missions and punishment of the preparator," the Foreign Ministry said.
Notably, an armed attack took place at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran on January 27, 2023, at about 8:30 by Baku time. As a result of this vile attack, Orkhan Askerov, the head of the security service of the diplomatic mission, was killed while performing his official duties, and two employees of the Embassy were injured.
