The members of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center met with the Secretary General of the UN, APA reports citing the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.

The special meeting held during the 9th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in Fes, Morocco, in partnership with the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, was attended by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Co-Chair of the Center, Mrs. Vaira Vike-Freiberga, as well as the 73rd and 75th UN Presidents of the General Assemblies Mrs. Maria Fernanda Espinosa and Volkan Bozkir, former President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić, former President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, former President of Bulgaria Petar Stoyanov, former President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Jan Fischer, former Secretary General of the Arab League Amre Moussa, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel Tzipi Livni, former Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia Eka Tkeshelashvili, former Director General of ISESCO Abdulaziz Altvaijri, as well as the High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Angel Moratinos and the Secretary General of NGBM attended.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the latest events and international challenges facing the world and agreed to hold this meeting regularly. In particular, the Secretary-General was informed about the Global Baku Forum held by the center, cooperation with the UN Alliance of Civilizations, and the initiatives carried out by the center.

"The Magic of the Pen" - selected miniatures from the Khamsa of Nizami Ganjavi specially published by the Center as part of the "Year of Nizami" announced by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a commemorative gift dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Center were presented to the Secretary-General.
