“Steps taken by the state of Azerbaijan, after the end of the Karabakh war, are aimed at ensuring peace in the region,” said Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov at the briefing following the meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart Gabrielius Landsbergis, APA reports.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan continues its activity in the direction of ensuring lasting peace and security in the region, as well as opening communications.
“All the works carried out in Karabakh are aimed at preventing humanitarian disasters there and return of our citizens forcibly relocated from Karabakh to their homes. Landmine threat still remains there and demining areas contaminated by mines is being continued rapidly,” added Foreign Minister.
