On the last meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers with mediation of official Washington, it was agreed to open the roads in the region and start the Aghdam-Khankandi route from September 1, USA was the main participant of this agreement, according to the information APA received.
During the talks with Azerbaijani leadership, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken requested the opening of both Lachin and Aghdam roads. But later Armenia and the separatists resisted this agreement. After that, USA backed off its position.
Because today, both on State Department and the Congress, only the necessity of opening the Lachin road are talked about.
This means that US politicians, who have turned into a captive of the voice of the Armenian lobby in the US, are trying to hide their indecision by creating a "guilty" image of Azerbaijan. The reason why official Washington, distinguished by its merciless stance against separatists in other regions, "considers" the protest of the separatist regime in Garabagh is related to the desire to deepen the problem. Because there have been problems in the region, as long as constructive communication between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not restored, the United States, like other great powers, retains the ability to put pressure on the parties.
