"The victory of the 44-day war does not mean that everything is over. This victory must be continued," said Mehmet Samsar, the Turkish ambassador to the Russian Federation, who participated in the November 8 - Victory Day event held at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
The Turkish diplomat said that Azerbaijan should continue its victories in the diplomatic and political field.
"We once again congratulate Azerbaijan on the great victory it won as a result of the 44-day war. I pray for God's mercy to the martyrs who lost their lives in this war. Because they sacrificed their lives to save their homeland, to put an end to the problem of Karabakh."
The ambassador said that Turkiye, both during the war and in the political process in general, always acted according to the principle of "One nation, two states" as said by the national leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.
"Every institution provided full support during the 44-day war. As the great leader Atatürk said, "Azerbaijan's sorrow is our sorrow, and its joy is our joy."
We felt the sadness of Karabakh for 30 years. At the end of 30 years, we live together with the entire Azerbaijani people with the same enthusiasm and joy that Karabakh was freed from occupation and returned to the Motherland. Of course, the biggest share here belongs to the leader of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. It was under his leadership that the war was successful. Of course, winning this war does not mean that everything is over. It is necessary to continue this both in the diplomatic and political fields", said the ambassador.
Turkish ambassador said that his country is ready to provide all kinds of support to Azerbaijan.
The ambassador conveyed his congratulations on the great Victory Day won by Azerbaijan as a result of the 44-day war.
