Türkiye welcomes the meeting between the Azerbaijani delegation and the ethnic Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, Turkish representative Burak Akchapar said in his speech at the meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Karabakh, APA reports.

"I echo our President's consistent statements: Armenia must fulfill its promises and ensure the opening of the Zangezur corridor. As everyone here knows, Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory," he stated.

Burak Akchapar stated that over the past three years, the Armenian side has not acted on the Trilateral Statement. Additionally, the illegal representatives present in Khankendi have been applying their own experiences.

"During this period, Armenia continued its mine warfare against Azerbaijan. However, Azerbaijan consistently attempted to engage in dialogue. Armenia consistently spread unsubstantiated, false information, thereby undermining peace and stability. After enduring three years of such challenges, Azerbaijan had no choice but to initiate anti-terrorism measures. This is Azerbaijan's sovereign right," stated Türkiye's representative at the UN.
