Turkiye's ambassador to Russia expressed his condolences on the armed attack on Azerbaijan's embassy in Iran

Today, Mehmet Samsar, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to the Russian Federation, paid a visit to the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia to express his condolences and support for the armed attack on the Republic of Azerbaijan's Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia told APA's Moscow bureau.

During the meeting, Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu briefed his Turkish counterpart on the aforesaid attack on our Embassy in Iran, emphasizing that it was a terrorist act, stating that the Iranian state bears full responsibility for the tragedy, and emphasizing that attacks on diplomatic missions are unacceptable.

The Azerbaijani Ambassador emphasized that Orkhan Asgarov worked in our Embassy in Moscow and knew him individually. He proudly noted that the injured: Mahir Imanov and Vasif Taghiyev, who heroically neutralized the terrorist, also worked at the Embassy in Russia.

Mehmet Samsar pointed out that Turkish diplomats have been subjected to terrorist attacks many times in history, expressed their shock over the tragedy and noted that his country strongly condemned the attack. The Turkish Ambassador expressed his deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the murdered Orkhan Asgarov and wished the injured Vasif Tagiyev and Mahir Imanov a speedy recovery.

It was also expressed at the meeting that those who organized and committed the said terrorist attack will receive the most severe punishments.

Ambassador Polad Bülbüloğlu thanked Mehmet Samsar, the state and people of Turkiye for their moral support.
