"We are proud to support ANAMA (Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan-ed.) and its courageous deminers," notes a post US embassy in Azerbaijan made on its Twitter account in relation to International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, APA reports.
"To promote regional peace and cooperation, the U.S. has provided $2.5 million since November 2021 for humanitarian demining operations in areas affected by the conflict," the embassy noted.
It was added that the United States is the world’s largest single financial supporter of conventional weapons destruction, investing over $4.6 billion in more than 100 countries since 1993.
