U.S. is committed to Armenia-Azerbaijan peace negotiations, said Principal Deputy Spokesperson of U.S. State Department Vedant Patel at a briefing, APA reports.
According to him, Assistant Secretary Karen Donfried emphasized the U.S.’s commitment to Armenia-Azerbaijan peace negotiations: "As the Secretary has also spoke about this quite repeatedly, direct dialogue is key to resolving this issue and reaching a lasting peace".
"We’ll continue to facilitate discussions between Armenia and Azerbaijan bilaterally as well as with partners, and as well as throughout multilateral organizations as well," he stresed.
Deputy Spokesperson also added that Karen Donfried spoke with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov.
