A panel discussion entitled "Rediscovering Multilateralism: A New Era of Non-alignment" was held within the framework of the X Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev talked about the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
Hikmat Hajiyev noted that Azerbaijan, as the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, promoted the principles of Bandung, and common values, and tired to achieve consensus on fundamental issues.
The assistant to the President said that Azerbaijan is trying to revive the Non-Aligned Movement, which promotes multilateralism.
Volkan Bozkir, president of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) that there are shortcomings in the UN and added that there is a need for reforms in the UN.
