It is a global challenge at the moment because the Russian invasion of Ukraine is the biggest war in Europe after the Second World War, Latvia's former Defense Minister Artis Pabriks told APA.

"The only difference between this war and the previous war is that the other global countries are not directly involved. At this moment this is a war between Russia-the invaders and Ukraine, which defends itself. And there are a group of countries either choosing to support Ukraine or some countries indirectly or more directly supporting Russia. So, this is basically a global war in a certain sense. Our duty is to bring Russia to its senses and stop this war and make invaders leave the Ukrainian territories. This is the only possibility. Otherwise, if Russia is given a chance to win this war or to pretend to it's won the war, then it will simply be a prelude to the initiatives for the next wars to come," the former minister stressed.
