"Today - on November 9, 2 years have passed since the signing of the statement on the declaration of a complete ceasefire and the cessation of all military operations in the Karabakh conflict region with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Taking this step made it possible to end the bloodshed and establish a peaceful life in the region," said an official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova, APA reports.
According to her, in accordance with the agreement signed on November 9, 2020, the Russian peacekeeping contingent brought to the region effectively fulfills the tasks set before it, significantly contributes to the stabilization of the situation and ensuring security in the region: "Our firends from both Azerbaijan and Armenia highly appreciate this".
The MFA official noted that the statements dated November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021 and November 26, October 31, 2022, laid the foundation for the initiation of complex measures for the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia: "Close coordination is being implemented with colleagues from Azerbaijan and Armenia for signing a peace agreement. With the active participation of our country, necessary steps are being taken in the direction of developing dialogues with the participation of public representatives, experts and parliamentarians to strengthen the trust between the peoples of these two countries. Russia will cooperate with official Baku and Yerevan to take all necessary measures within the framework of ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus and development of the region".
