Agency for Mine Action of Azerbaijan: Area of 37400 square meters inspected so far

“Area of 37400 sq.m. has been inspected so far” says Agency for Mine Action, APA reports.

Media leaders and social media activists have got acquainted with the work conducted by the Agency for Mine Action of Azerbaijan in the Garvand village of the Aghdam region.

Idris Ismayilov, Chief of Staff of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) gave information to the people visiting about the conducted work.

I.Ismayilov noted that demining operations have been launched by the agency in more than a month: “We are currently on the Barda-Agdam railway. It is 25 km long and 40 meters wide. To date, about 2 km, in total, 37,400 square meters area has been inspected. As a result of conducted operational serach measures, 35 anti-tank mines, 41 anti-personnel mines and 2 unexploded ordnance have been found and taken. Our operational search measures are being continued. Anti-personnel mines have been found along two lines and anti-tank mines along one line so far. The area is an area that has been polluted by military ammunition and mines. It is the previous line of contact. During the operation held today, 3 anti-personnel mines and 1 anti-tank mine have found. These findings will be neutralized by blasting in the area”.
