The beginning of the liberation of the 132 km section of the Azerbaijani-Iranian state border occupied by the Armenian Armed Forces was met with great joy and enthusiasm by the Azerbaijani border guards, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic told APA.
On October 16, the state flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan has hoisted on "Chakhirli" and "Mahmudlu" border posts in the liberated Jabrayil region on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and a solemn ceremony was organized on the occasion of the beginning of service and combat activities of these border posts.
The ceremony highlighted the honorable participation of Azerbaijani border guards in the military operations under the Supreme Command of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to expel the Armenian Armed Forces from the lands of Azerbaijan and inflicted crushing blows on the enemy along with other types of Armed Forces.
It was stressed that every border guard officer, sergeant, sergeant and soldier serving on the state border should be ready to perform combat missions against the enemy.
It was noted that the fighting spirit of the personnel was extremely high, and numerous requests were received from servicemen to be sent to the combat zone: The protection of the state border in the area occupied by the Armenian Armed Forces in October 1993 and liberated after 27 years was organized by the personnel of the "Horadiz" border detachment of the State Border Service.
Preparations are underway for the implementation of border protection measures at other border outposts to be liberated in the near future.
