Criminal case launched regarding conduction of archeological excavation by Armenia in territories liberated from occupation

An appeal of several scientific employees of the Institute of Archeological and Ethnography of the ANAS published on media regarding conduction of illegal archeological excavation by Armenia in our territories liberated from occupation, plundering material and cultural heritage monuments of Azerbaijan, has been reviewed by the Prosecutor General's Office, press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.

It has been noted that a criminal case has been launched and an investigation group has been established by conducting a primary investigation regarding conduction of archeological excavation by Armenia in our territories liberated from occupation, plundering historical material and cultural heritage monuments, and other episodes in the Investigation Office of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan with relevant Articles of the Criminal Code.

Necessary investigative measures, including review of the site, are implemented by the investigators on the criminal case, relevant measures are taken in order to determine material, as well as historical and archeological damage with other state bodies by involving specialists and experts.

Paying attention to the other facts, noted in the appeal, published on mass media, study of these facts will be provided during the investigation on the criminal case.
