"According to the agreement, which makes up the basis of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), member states should avoid from the application of force and threatening. CSTO member states have such an obligation and it has found its reflection in the Charter of the organization", Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev told journalists, APA reports.

According to him, the result is that Armenia by abusing the organization carries out attacks against Azerbaijani civilians from its territory by creating a potential threat to the CSTO member states.

H. Hajiyev noted that as a result, Armenia wants to involve CSTO in the conflict: “We assess it as military-political provocation. We have friendship, partnership relations with other member states of the organization except Armenia. We by using bilateral relations inform member states of the organization about the attacks of Armenia. Azerbaijan is not a member of this organization and it has not any commitment before organization.”
