Azerbaijan detains 55 border violators over last month

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan continues the combat measures during September of 2022 on ensuring reliable protection of the state border, smuggling, illegal migration, and drug trafficking, the Information Center of the State Border Service told APA.

During the month, 55 people were detained due to violation of the state border, 34 of them were citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 3 of Nepal, 2 of Tajikistan, 1 of Palestine and 1 of Pakistan, 2 of the Islamic Republic of Iran, 2 of Pakistan, 5 of Afghanistan, 1 of Syria and 4 of Sri Lanka.

Within the framework of the combat activities against illegal migration, 30 people were detained while passing through the state border with fake passports, Schengen visas, and date stamps

35 people have been detained due to violation of the regime rules along the border and 678 people have been detained due to violation of the border regime rules, and relevant measures have been taken in this regard.

Within the framework of the combat measures against criminality, 234 people, who were put on a wanted list by the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, have been found and handed over relevantly, 420 people, who were banned from leaving the country, were prevented from leaving the country and 24 people whose entry was prohibited were prevented from entering the Republic of Azerbaijan.

As a result of measures to combat the illegal circulation of narcotics, 39 kg 036-gram narcotics, and 759 psychotropic pills were found and taken over.

As a result of the measures implemented within the framework of the combat measures against smuggling, smuggling totally worth AZN 937 thousand 318, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, have been detained.

Measures are being continued in the direction of the organization of reliable protection of our state borders.
