The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan released joint information, APA reports.
According to the joint statement, the next operational measures were carried out in order to prevent the criminal acts committed by a group of Azerbaijani citizens, who were involved by the Iranian special services for material interest and religious propaganda, in order to disrupt the stability in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan:
"It was determined that Rufulla Akhundzadah and his son Almursal Akhundzadah, who cooperated with the Iranian special services, have prepared a special action plan to organize gangs to establish the "Karima" state, and to organize assassination attempts on the lives of well-known public officials through committing armed riots on the territory of Azerbaijan, by forcefully changing the constitutional structure of the Republic".
