The Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan have disseminated joint information in connection with the fire in Sumgayit, APA reports.
On April 28, 2022, at around 17:20, a fire broke out in the territory of the Azersun Industrial Park complex located in the Taghiyev settlement of Sumgayit city.
Based on the information received, employees of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations promptly left for the scene.
During the preliminary investigation, it was found that the fire covered a wide area - from the place of disposal of plastic waste to food and other warehouses.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office under Article 225.2 of the Criminal Code, an investigative group has been created, consisting of investigators from the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Measures are being taken to contain and extinguish the fire.
After extinguishing the fire, investigative actions will be carried out to establish the causes and extent of the damage caused.
