Azerbaijan Security Service exposes Iran's spy network in the country, five people were arrested -VIDEO

The State Security Service continues to carry out comprehensive operational-investigative measures in the direction of preventing intelligence-disruptive activities carried out by the representatives of the special services of the Islamic Republic of ran against the Republic of Azerbaijan and exposing the spy network, APA reports citing the State Security Service.

According to the information, as a result of the measures taken, Asgarov Zahir Fakhraddin oglu, who worked as a ship captain in the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, was determined to be involved in secret cooperation during his religious education in Qom, Iran, by the representatives of the special service body of the mentioned country in exchange for a financial interest.

Over the past period, he collected information about the companies and representative offices of foreign countries operating in our country, the place and time of the exercises conducted by the Navy in the Caspian Sea, and the cargoes transported to the oil platforms to use them to the detriment of the sovereignty and defense capability of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Zahir Asgarov committed treason against the state in the form of espionage by providing the mentioned information through a mobile phone, as well as directly during meetings with those persons in Iran.

It has been revealed with another investigation that while Rasulov Elnur Akif oglu was in Iran for treatment in 2018, he agreed on secret cooperation with the representatives of the special service of this country, who introduced itself under the names of "Meyse" and "Doctor". Elnur Rasulov, first directly, and then with his relative Rasulov Arif Amrah oglu, with whom he involved in secret cooperation, performed the tasks in exchange for payment of various amounts and sent the photos and videos of the territories where oil and gas pipelines pass in Garadag region, the unmanned aerial vehicles kept in the airport belonging to the Ministry of Defense and State Security Service, the area where tanks and different military facilities are kept, equipment displayed at the "Technofest-2022" Aviation, Space and Technology Festival in Baku, strategic and military facilities in Baku, as well as Salyan and Fuzuli districts, anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as other radar-control devices through WhatsApp" instant messaging system to the representatives of the special service bodies. At the same time, it was determined that another citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan Bakhtiyar Aghazadeh started confidential cooperation with representatives of a special service body of Iran, in a change of financial interest, while being in the Islamic Republic of Iran for religious education, reasonable suspicions emerged about his treason by the instruction of them, by collecting information about offices of the foreign countries operating in Azerbaijan, public political processes occurred in the country, military units, their locations, as well as team staff and delivering to Iranian special body.

It was also determined that Jafarzadeh Mirhafiz Mirisag oglu, who was arrested in 2018 by a court order for criminal acts committed under the control of Iran's special services, and Mammadov Orkhan Kamran oglu, who is currently hiding in Iran, has been internationally wanted, to the detriment of the state security and defense capabilities of the Republic of Azerbaijan.Acting in the direction of the fulfillment of the assigned tasks, specifying the areas where military objects are located and sending their location and other information to the latter through the Telegram application system.

As a result of the investigation, groups under the names “Müzakirələr”, “Elanlar” and others were identified in the WhatsApp application, in which citizens of Azerbaijan were involved. They acted under the influence of Tohid Ibrahimbayli, Orkhan Mammadov, Elshad Hajiyev, who were hiding in Iran and evading criminal responsibility.

It became known that through these groups radical, religious-extremist ideas, which are against the human rights recognized by modern international law, contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, calculated to create a religious state in Azerbaijan, were spread. Currently, the State Security Service is continuing complex investigations and operation measures.
