Earthquake hits Iran felt in Nakhchivan-UPDATED

On October 5, at 04:21 local time, magnitude 5.8 earthquake jolted Iran, 80 km southwest of Nakhchivan station, the Republican Seismological Service Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences told APA.

The earthquake was felt up to 5.3 magnitude in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

There is no destruction and loss in the autonomous republic. The earthquake was also felt in Turkiye, Iraq and Armenia. The depth of the earthquake was 3 kilometers.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck the Azerbaijan-Armenia-Iran border region, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said on Wednesday, APA reports citing Reuters.
