Fire in Gabala forest of Shahdag National Park taken under control

The fire that broke out in a forest area in Gabala district has been taken under control, Arzu Umiyev, head of the Gabala State Fire Protection Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, told APA’s local bureau.

The fire that broke out in a 1-hectare forest area on the top of a high mountain in Tikanli village of Bum forest district of Shahdag National Park was extinguished after a day.

More than 100 employees of local agencies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and a helicopter were involved in limiting the fire.

The fires have been fully extinguished, and several smoldering areas are currently under control.

Mainly manual labor was used to prevent the incident.

A fire also started in the forest area in the north of Gabala city today.

Currently, the employees of the local agencies of the MES and MONRE and a helicopter have been involved in the scene.

So far, 2 hectares of the forest area have burned.
