"There are about 4,500 missing persons in the region regarding conflict since the 90s," said head of Public Relations Department of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Representation in Azerbaijan Ilaha Huseynova, APA reports.

She has noted that 3,800 of them were registered by the Baku and Barda offices of the ICRC: "We as an organization have implemented the project of collecting information on missing persons. These data are stored in a special database in the state commission. In addition, biological samples have been taken from the families of the missing persons. As a result of these samples, the state authorities have made a DNA profile. This is an important step for clarifying the fate of missing persons."
