According to the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, a part of the flexible rescue forces of the Ministry of Emergencies in the brotherly country, in order to eliminate the consequences of the strong earthquake that occurred in the Republic of Turkiye and to support the search and rescue operations, left today by plane from the Adana airport to Baku, Azerbaijani MES told APA.
Adana governor Süleyman Elban from the airport, Cenk Yıldız, head of Mersin Province Emergency Management Department of the Emergency Management Agency of the Republic of Turkiye (AFAD), Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Murat Salim Esenli and Ayşe Saraç, and Hatice Tugba İkizler, Head of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye sent rescue forces.
Officials thanked the state and people of Azerbaijan for their support.
Return of a group of rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan involved in search operations in the region where the earthquake occurred in Türkiye, is expected, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
Azerbaijani rescuers are expected to leave Adana airport for their country in the next few hours.
