Person participating in illegal armed groups abroad was arrested

Azerbaijan’s State Security Service (SSS) arrested a person involved in illegal armed groups abroad, said the press service of SSS, APA reports.

Within the framework of complex operational-investigative measures carried out by the State Security Service in the field of fighting against international terrorism, reasonable doubts were determined about Akif Osmanov, the citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 1977, about participating in armed conflicts abroad on the basis of religious hostility, who previously was detained and arrested in the area of Turkiye, with fake passport as an Uzbek citizen, by name Ilyorjon Isanov, with suspicion being a member in units of armed terrorism organization operating in Turkiye, but he was acquitted because his guilt was not proven.
