CBA interested in bringing in Azerbaijan "ApplePay" and "GooglePay" payment systems

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is interested in bringing in Azerbaijan "ApplePay" and "GooglePay" payment systems, head of Division for development of national payment system under the Department for payment systems and account settlements of the CBA Ramil Mahmudov told "APA-Economics".

He said every payment system has its certain strategy which should comply with its decisions to enter these or other markets.

“If we take into consideration that the Azerbaijani market has sufficiently developed and has a potential, we believe that these organizations also think about being represented in the local market. These organizations have local managers who evaluate positively the local market’s potential. We don’t see any restricting factor here, and in our turn, we are ready to accept and support at high level every organization entering the market. I as a payer am surely interested that it would be possible to perform payments by all means", R. Mahmudov noted.
