The limit of discounted use of electricity in Azerbaijan by certain group of population to be increased by 100 kW-hour has been envisaged to be temporarily increased by 100 kW-hour, "APA-Economics" reports citing the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.

This issue has been reflected in the “Program of support to utility payments for people’s electricity consumption” related to provision of state support to various sectors of economy including entrepreneurship based on the Order “About a series of measures aimed at reduction of negative impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and sharp fluctuations taking place on the world energy and stock markets arising from the pandemic on the economy of the Azerbaijan Republic, macroeconomic stability, employment issues in the country and entrepreneurial entities” of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev.

Note that currently the monthly limit of discounted use of electricity in Azerbaijan by certain group of population equals to 300 kW-hours. In the framework of this limit, the consumption fee for 1 kW-hour of electricity is calculated at the price of 7 kopecks. When the limit is exceeded, the consumption fee for 1 kW-hour of electricity is calculated at the price of 11 kopecks.

Thus, the new program envisages the temporary increase of the mentioned limit up to 400 kW-hours.
