Microsoft has stopped distributing the security update KB4524244 for Windows 10, APA-Economics reports citing Securitylab.

The decision was made after the upgrade caused problems on some customers’ HP systems.

The security patch KB4524244 was released on February 11, 2020. It was supposed to fix problems with the UEFI boot manager and close a security hole in it. The security update was released for Windows 10 versions 1607, 1703, 1709, 1803, 1809, 1903 and 1909.

However, the patch caused boot problems on HP computers. Microsoft acknowledged the error and decided to no longer provide the update through Windows Update, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), or the Microsoft Update Catalog.
