Passenger transportation via railway increases by 50% in Azerbaijan

In January-March of this year, 3.6 mln tones of cargo were transported via railway transport in Azerbaijan, which is 0.6% more in comparison with corresponding period of 2019, State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.

According to the information, in reporting period 1077,0 passengers have been transported through railway and it means an increase of 50.1% in annual comparison.

According to the information, during the past period 221 wagons have been loaded, while 352 wagons have been unloaded on average.

"During a day, 10,3 thousand tons of loading work has been carried out over North direction, 2,1 thousand tons West direction, and 0,5 thousand tons to South direction", noted in the information.
