Shahin Mustafayev: “Bridge, built over the Samur River, to increase transit opportunities of Azerbaijan”

“Putting into operation the automobile bridge, constructed over the Samur River crossing the Azerbaijani-Russian border will expand opportunities for increasing cargo transportation within framework of international transport corridors”, said Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Republic Shahin Mustafayev while opening ceremony of the automobile bridge over the Samur River crossing Azerbaijani-Russian border, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, the bridge over the Samur River is an important part of “North-South” and “North-West” transport corridors. Transportation through the “North-South” route has increased by more than 60%, while through the “North-West” route by 53% in recent 10 months.

“By putting into operation this bridge, we will expand opportunities for increasing cargo transportation not only between two countries (Azerbaijan and Russia – red.), but also within the framework of international transportation corridors”, noted Sh. Mustafayev.
